Fatal Industrial Accident Claims Life Of California Man

An industrial accident has claimed the life of a northern California man. According to San Francisco news, the accident occurred near the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport.

Reports indicate that the man was crushed in a machine at a Northern California manufacturing plant. He became caught in the machine, which amputated his legs and he ultimately passed away from his injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

In most cases, work place accidents – including those that lead to personal injuries and death – are covered by California Worker's Compensation laws. If you or a loved one has suffered an injury at work, it is a good idea to consult with a San Francisco worker's compensation attorney right away. Determining your or your family's rights to compensation can be difficult, and it is important to follow the correct steps to ensure you get the money you deserve.

Where an individual is injured or killed at work, California workers compensation provides a means for the victim or his or her family to recover money. This often includes lost wages and medical bills. One of the greatest benefits of California workers compensation is that accident victims may recover damages regardless of fault. This means that you may be able to avoid lengthy legal process. However, one of the challenges of worker's compensation is that it may be the only recovery allowed and the amounts recovered may be much less than what's available through filing a civil lawsuit. In certain situations, it may be possible to bring a civil lawsuit, such as where a third party is involved or some other extenuating circumstance exists. Although it may take longer to recover compensation, in these situations the total amounts may be much greater.

A knowledgeable San Francisco industrial accident lawyer can evaluate your case and determine the best strategy for you and your family.
