California regulators are now investigation a San Francisco tour bus company after serious cause that caused five serious personal injuries. According to reports, the bus was owned by City Sightseeing and may not have been registered with the California Public Utilities Commission as required by law. The regulation requires that all tour vehicles that carry more than 11 passengers be registered and pass California Highway Patrol Inspections, however initial reports reveal that the tour bus failed to register as required by law.
The tour bus accident occurred late October in the Union Square shopping area of San Francisco. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, however initial reports indicate that the blue tour bus sped across two city blocks, hit two pedestrians as well as a bicyclist. It also crashed into numerous moving cars before eventually stopping as it collided with scaffolding. In total, 20 people received serious personal injuries with 5 still hospitalized.
