One man has died following a massive big rig accident. The incident occurred
near Pomona and I-80 when a big rig drifted toward the divider that separates
the off ramp from the interstate. The big rig hit the divider, overturned
and burst into flames. A good Samaritan witnessed the accident, and pulled
the driver from the cab and provided CPR. The driver survived, however
unfortunately another driver on the road was not as lucky. He was unaware
of the backup caused by the big rig incident, and ran into a stopped vehicle.
That man passed away at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo.
Truck accidents are one of the most dangerous types of motor vehicle accidents.
When accidents do occur, the results are often deadly. Some factors to
assess in truck accident include speed of the vehicle, how long the driver
had been on the road (and was that by his choice or was the trucking company
making unreasonable/unlawful demands?), and whether the load he was carrying
was too big/heavy.
While here the fatality did not involve a car immediately connected to
the accident, it shows the ripple effect of dangers the incident created.
